Romania will deploy its cultural assets to attract tourists, with plans to display catalogs with famous Romanian paintings and sculptures in tourism promotion offices abroad, as well as in the lobbies of hotels in Romania.

The proposals come from Maria Grapini, the minister for tourism and small and medium enterprises, who also hopes to sign an agreement with the Romanian Cultural Institute ICR, to display the catalogs at the ICR office abroad.

The minister also hopes to create special areas for Romanian artists to display either their original works, or catalogs of their works, and their contact data. “In other countries, I have seen catalogs of artist works form that country even in hotel rooms,” she said.
