Romanian entries for Cannes Short Film Corner 2013 announced

A large and mixed bag of Romanian short films will feature in the the Cannes Film Festival's Short Film Corner, running May 15 to May 26. Included in the entries are Cod roşu/Code Red by Hanno Hoffer, Wonderland by Peter Kerek and Copacul/The Tree by Mihai Şofronea. The Cannes Film Festival has organized the Short Film Corner since 2004 and from its inception it has afforded an extra opportunity for young up and coming film makers to get their work seen.

At last year's event, there were 1,945 short films from 88 countries in the Cannes Short Film Corner. Other Romanian films selected by Romanian Short Waves to appear this year are Colecţia de arome/Flavor Collection by Igor Cobileanski, Vaca finlandeză/Finnish Cow by Gheorghe Preda, Picurar by Napoleon Helmis, Plimbare/Walk – Mihaela Popescu, Ana by Mirona Radu, Ovo by Eva Pervolovici, Sistemul respirator la păsări – Alina Manolache, Hahol – Goran Mihailov, Waste – Anton Groves, Bad Penny – Andrei Creţulescu and My Baby by Luiza Pârvu.

Romanian Short Waves selects local short-length films for the Cannes Festival each year. The organization is supported by the Romanian Cultural Institute.
