Romanian Dacia registrations in France up 21% in the first nine months

Registrations of Romania's iconic car brand Dacia in France increased by 21.2% in the first nine months of 2014, compared to the same period the previous year, to 79,136 units. This was the fastest growth rate among brands with significant sales, while the French auto market posted a growth of 2.1%, to 1.33 million cars, reports local Mediafax.

Dacia’s market share in France increased to 5.92% in January-September this year, from 4.98% in the same period last year.

Lancia and Jeep were the two brands that registered higher increases in registrations than the Romanian brand, but with lower sales. Lancia recorded an increase of 62.1% to 5,159 units, while Jeep’s registrations went up 38.3% to 1,214 cars.

Renault Group registered a 9.9% increase in sales in France. With 346,010 units sold in the first nine months, Renault reached a market share of 25.87%.

In September, Dacia registrations in France also increased by 34.1% year-on-year, to 6,775 units. Its market share went up from 3.55% to 4.48%.
