Romania switches to winter time this weekend

23 October 2015

Romania will switch to the winter time on Sunday morning, October 25. This is done by adding another hour to the night between Saturday and Sunday, as 4:00 AM becomes 3:00 AM.

Romania uses winter time, or the Eastern European Time, as it is known internationally, from end-October until the end of March. The EET is one of the names of UTC+02:00 time zone, 2 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time.

During summer, Romania uses the Eastern European Summer Time (EEST), which is 3 hour ahead of the UTC.

Romania's neighbors Moldova, Ungaria, Serbia, Bulgaria and Ukraine also switch to the winter time this weekend.
