Romania, Kazakhstan to develop joint projects

Romania and the Republic of Kazakhstan want to develop joint projects in energy, tourism, transport, agriculture, research and education.

Bogdan Pandelic, State Secretary within the Economy Ministry, and Magzum Maratovich Mirzagaliev, Energy Vice Minister in Kazakhstan, met in Bucharest for the Romanian-Kazakh inter-governmental commission for economic and scientific cooperation.

Romanian exports to the Republic of Kazakhstan increased by 60% in 2014. Romania exported goods of USD 84.3 million, whereas Kazakhstan’s exports amounted to over USD 3 billion, up by 29.4% over 2013. The main Kazakh export to Romania is oil for the Rompetrol group, owned by Kazakh group KazMunai.

The total volume of bilateral trade went up by 30% in 2014.
