Romania joins troops for military drills in Ukraine

Some 1,300 military personnel from 15 countries, including Romania, participate at the Rapid Trident field training exercise in north western Ukraine. According to Navy Capt. Greg Hicks, director of communication and engagement for U.S. European Command, this is an annual exercise and was planned before the current situation in Ukraine, reads a statement of the US Department of Defense.

The countries that participate at the military exercise are Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Canada, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain and the United States. The exercise will conclude on September 26.
