Romania brings Enel revenues above the EUR 1 billion threshold in 2012

electricity sxcEnergy company Enel saw its revenues in Romania up by 6.5 percent in 2012, when they exceeded EUR 1 billion. Its EBITDA profit stood at some EUR 231 million, an increase of 12.6 percent. The increase in revenues is associated with the increase in prices, according to Luca D'Agnese, general manager of Enel Romania.

Enel Romania plans to invest EUR 542 million in its energy distribution network in the country between 2013 and 2017.

Enel entered the Romanian market in 2005 via the privatization of Electrica Banat and Electrica Dobrogea, and went on to buy Electrica Muntenia South in 2007. It currently has 4,200 employees in Romania and 2.6 million clients.
