Five medals for Romania at the 2018 International Astronomy Olympiad

Romania won five medals at the 2108 International Astronomy Olympiad, which took place in Sri Lanka between October 6 and October 14. The Romanian students won two gold medals, one silver and two bronze, the Romanian Ministry of Education announced.

The gold winners are Daria Maria Hărăbor and David Corneliu Turturean. The silver medal went to Traian Rareș Tuș while Maria Iordache and Vlad Roșca won the two bronze medals.

This year’s edition of the International Astronomy Olympiad gathered 80 participants from 18 countries.

Romanian students who obtain medals and mentions at international/regional Olympiads are awarded each year by the Ministry of National Education.
