Local telecom player RCS&RDS attracted in July over 27,000 customers from its competitors Orange, Vodafone and Telekom, according to Romania’s communication authority ANCOM.

It was the operator which convinced the most customers to transfer their phone numbers from other networks. RCS&RDS was followed by Vodafone, Orange, and Telekom, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

RCS&RDS also registered the best performance in the industry for fixed telephony, but the number of clients on this segment was much smaller, amounting to some 2,000.

The operator, which recently acquired a 4G license valid until 2029 from the 2K Telecom operator, is planning to build its 4G mobile data network in 25 cities this year. By creating the 4G network, RCS & RDS will further close the gap to its competitors.
