Rain takes over half of Romania

The weather has already started to change in Romania on Tuesday, but the meteorologists issued a yellow alert for rain, mixed precipitations, and even snow in higher areas for the coming period. Some 21 counties in northern, northeastern, southwestern, and central Romania are targeted by this alert, which is valid between March 23, 08:00, and March 24, 11:00.

The rain will take over the country from the southwest. In the night between March 23 and March 24, as well as on the morning of March 24, the meteorologists expect sleet and snow in the east and southeastern parts of Transylvania, and in the northern and western areas of Moldova. Snow is also expected in the mountain areas.

The rainfall will reach 30 liters per sqm, and even 50 liters per sqm in some areas.

It will also rain in southern and southeastern Romania, including Bucharest, with rainfall expected to reach 25 liters per sqm. The temperatures will also drop, and the wind might blow with up to 60 km per hour.
