Peter Weiss to replace Mihai Bogza at the helm of Bancpost

Peter Weiss (in picture), the former head of RBS Romania, will be the new executive president of Bancpost from January next year, replacing Mihai Bogza. Bogza will become head of the administration council with Bancpost. The changes still require the OK from the Romanian Central Bank (BNR).

Weiss has previously held the helm of RBS Romania – formerly ABN Amro – for four years.  Bancpost, majority owned by EFG Eurobank, posted a EUR 13.9 million profit in Romania in the first nine months, after seeing a EUR 4.3 million loss in the same period of 2009. The banks runs 286 branches in Romania.
