(P) The Black Sea Offshore Conference to be held in Romania next month

In the light of recent events in Ukraine, energy security is one of the most crucial issues in Europe. Unlocking hydrocarbon resources in the Black Sea could be the next step towards boosting domestic energy supplies.

Gheorghe Dutu, the president of the National Agency for Mineral Resources of Romania (NAMR) says in his welcome letter to the attendees of the Second Black Sea Offshore Conference “Romania attaches great importance to reducing dependence on hydrocarbon imports and unlocking its own offshore reserves.”

Recent seismic research and exploration operations in Romanian and Bulgarian Black Sea waters are also highly promising while Turkey and Georgia are looking for partners to explore their part of the Black Sea.

The Second Black Sea Offshore conference will take place on 15-16 October 2014 in Constanta, the hub of offshore activities in the region and will cover offshore activities across the entire Black Sea region including Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Georgia and Russia.
