“I am Malala”, the autobiography of Pakistani school pupil, and education activist Malala Yousafzai, this year’s winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, has sold 10,000 copies in Romania this year.

The book was published in Romania by Polirom publishing house, in May 2014, and all copies have been sold, according to Mediafax newswire.

Malala Yousafzai and Indian children's rights activist were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 for “their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education", the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced on Friday.

The 17-year old Malala Yousafzai is the youngest Nobel Laureate ever.

“Despite her youth, Malala Yousafzay has already fought for several years for the right of girls to education, and has shown by example that children and young people, too, can contribute to improving their own situations.  This she has done under the most dangerous circumstances.  Through her heroic struggle she has become a leading spokesperson for girls’ rights to education,” according to the Nobel Committee.

Malala Yousafzay has been fighting for rights to education and for women, especially in the Swat Valley, in Pakistan, where the local Taliban had at times banned girls from attending school. An assassination attempt made on her in October 2012 sparked a national and international support for Yousafzai.
