A commercial court for business litigation will soon be created in Bucharest, according to the Romanian Government.

Initially announced for fall this year, the creation of the new court has already been approved by the Government, and sent to the Parliament for debate and approval.

The new court should take over most of the business litigation, including insolvency and unlawful competition, among others.

Judges will specialize in this area, and regular courts are expected to have a lower case load.

It is hoped the new court will speed up decision making, as most business litigation takes several months to years to finalize in Romania, which is why many business owners prefer not to go to court for fear of losing time and money.
