The net investments in the national economy totaled over EUR 6.6 billion in the first half of the year, up 8.7% compared to the same period in 2015, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).

The net investments for acquiring machinery and equipment, including transport means, totaled almost EUR 3 billion, up 13.3% year-on-year. The new construction work saw investments of EUR 2.86 billion, up 6.1% during this period.

The net investments rose by 9.7% year-on-year in the second quarter.
