Dan Vîlceanu, a close collaborator of former Liberal leader Florin Cîţu (PNL), announced his resignation from the position of minister of Investments and European Projects, confirming that he forwarded the document to prime minister Nicolae Ciucă.

"About an hour ago, after the Government meeting, I submitted my resignation," Dan Vîlceanu announced on Wednesday, April 6, in a press conference.

Dan Vîlceanu announced last Saturday that he would discuss with prime minister Nicolae Ciucă in order to submit his resignation. He said there is no longer trust among the members of the Government.

He also resigned from the position of general secretary of the Liberal Party (PNL) after Florin Cîţu resigned from the position of president of the party over the weekend.
