Military hospital for people infected with Ebola to be opened near Romanian airport

14 November 2014

Patients diagnosed with Ebola will receive treatment in a military hospital to be opened near the Henri Coanda International Airport in Otopeni, close to Bucharest, at the end of November. The hospital will have equipment to protect and decontaminate personnel.

“This is a military hospital subordinated to the Ministry of Defense so it is guarded. It’s not a hospital for the general public, it doesn’t treat patients with common diseases, it’s only a backup for treating such a case,” said doctor Alexandru Rafila, adviser within the Ministry of Health, cited by local Mediafax.

The new military hospital will be equipped with dozens of beds.
