Romanian telecom and cable provider RCS&RDS will launch a video on demand service called Digi Play, which will operate as an online platform for films. The new service is to be officially launched in September, sources from the market told local news agency Mediafax.

RCS&RDS announced the National Audiovisual Council CNA about its intention to launch Digi Play, in line with the audiovisual legislation.

The Digi Play platform will initially operate as an online base for films, most of them part of the portfolio of Digi Film television. Later, documentaries and shows will be broadcasted on Digi Play.

RCS&RDS is one of the largest telecom and cable providers on the local market.
