Fast food restaurant chain McDonald’s Romania will buy three franchised restaurants in Brasov for an undisclosed sum.

The three restaurants operate under the McDonald’s franchise and are owned by local entrepreneur Adrian Danes, according to the Competition Council, which approved the transaction. The deal’s value was not made public.

The firm that owns the restaurants, Adrian Restaurant SRL, had a turnover of EUR 4.53 million and a net profit of EUR 340,000, in 2014. It had 121 employees.

McDonald’s Romania is the country’s biggest restaurant chain by sales, with a EUR 97 million turnover in 2014. The company made a net profit of EUR 3.7 million last year and had 2,760 employees.

McDonald’s has 67 restaurants in 21 cities in Romania. Almost half of the restaurants (32) are in Bucharest. Seven of the restaurants are franchised units owned by five local franchisees.
