Man attacked by woman during road rage incident downtown Bucharest

UPDATE: A man was injured in the head near Dorobanti market in Bucharest on Thursday in what appears to have been a case of road rage.

The attacker, a woman, used a tear gas device. Early information provided by local media pointed to a a non-lethal gun.

The man, 35, was injured in the left side of his face, where he suffered burning. He was conscious and taken to the Floreasca hospital.

The woman fled the scene and the Police created road blocks to screen traffic and find the woman. Later on, she was found, and her identitiy was also revealed: Trisha, a former singer in a 90s band.

The man's wife called 112 immediately after the shooting, saying her husband had been shot by another driver after a confrontation in traffic.

The Police are still investigating how did the incident happened.

Traffic conflicts are quite common in Bucharest, a city overcrowded by cars, where traffic jams are a norm, but most incidents are not violent.

The Dorobanti area of Bucharest, a luxury neighborhood of the city, witnessed another shooting last year, when a man killed his wife and one of her colleagues from a hairdressers in the area.

The shooter Gheorghe Vlădan was sentenced to life in prison.
