Local authorities plan to expand Romania’s Transalpina Ski Resort

The local authorities in the Romanian city of Voineasa want to expand the Transalpina Ski Resort with some 10,000 sqm, according to Mayor Gheorghe Stanciu.

“We managed to get 9,970 sqm from the forest fund's administrator to expand the slope. We’ll also have a new lift installation here. We also plan to mark the slope for beginners,” Stanciu told local Agerpres.

Transalpina Resort currently has ski slopes totalling 9.5 km and can be further expanded.

The resort, located in Lotrului Mountains, near Voineasa mountain resort, required an investment of EUR 35 million. Almost 92% of the work is currently completed.
