Kinofest brings 225 short films to Bucharest this September

This year’s edition of Kinofest Film Festival will bring 225 short films to Romania’s capital, between September 25 and September 27. The screenings will take place at Cinema Union, Cinema Elvira Popescu, Energiea Pub, Seneca Anticafe, and Carol 53. Over 50 other short films can be viewed online.

The event’s five competitions gather 93 films, and three of the sections are online (Online Animation - 21 films, Online Fiction -15 films, and Micromovie - 16 films). The other two competitions (Fiction and Animation) will take place in the cinema, and each competition will have a winner.

The online competitions, a novelty of this year’s edition, take place on kinofest.com until September 27. The public can see and vote the finalist shorts online.

The traditional competitions will be screened at Cinema Union, between September 25 and September 27, in the presence of a professional jury. The Fiction Competition will present 15 films from 10 countries, while the Animation Competition will include 25 films from 15 countries.

The event also has an off-competition section, called World Panorama, which includes 56 productions this year. They will be screened at Cinema Union.
