Insolvencies down 13% in Romania in first five months

Some 11,000 companies entered insolvency in Romania in the first five months of 2014, down 13.47 percent compared to the same period in 2013, according to data from the Trade Registry. Over 12,700 companies became insolvent in the first five moths of last year.

Most insolvencies were recorded in Bucharest - 1,853 (up 7 percent year-on-year), Bihor county - 717 (up 6.22 percent), Prahova - 551 (up 86.15 percent) and Brasov county - 505 (down 6.48 percent).

The smallest number of insolvencies was recorded in the Calarasi county - 41, Neamt county - 61, Vaslui county - 66 and Teleorman county - 69.
