RO Govt. earmarks EUR 65 mln for new stadium in Târgovişte

07 April 2022

The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration has allocated in principle RON 323.7 mln (EUR 65.4 mln) for the construction of a stadium in Târgovişte, in Dâmboviţa county.

According to the project, the stadium will be able to host football matches, including the preliminary stages of the Champions League, but also the matches of the national team.

The stadium will have a capacity of 12,012 seats in covered grandstands, of which 254 VIP seats, 92 seats for the media and 68 seats for people with disabilities, according to a press release from the ministry.

ProSport found out, however, that the ministry’s decision is by no means the last step before the auction and the construction of the stadium in Târgoviște. The investment is on the list of the National Company for Investments (CNI), at position 298. For comparison, the construction of a Sports Complex in Iași is also on the CNI list as well, since 2020.
