Group of Ukrainians injured during recent violent protests, treated in Bucharest

03 March 2014

A group of Ukrainians injured during the violent protests in the country was brought to Bucharest on Saturday (March 1) with a military airplane, and transported to four hospitals in Romania’s capital.

Most of the injured presented gunshot and burn wounds.

“It’s difficult to say how long will the patients stay in Romania and I think they will leave individually because it depends on  when each case will be solved. It depends on their injuries,on the treatment,” said Raed Arafat, state secretary in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, quoted by local news agency Agerpres.

Besides Romania, other countries such as Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania provided medical support to Ukraine, according to Arafat.
