Germany funds EUR 3.9 mln wind park in Romania

Germany’s Ministry of Environment will contribute with up to EUR 3.9 million to the funding of a wind project in Bihor county, Romania.

The project includes the construction of four 2.5 MW wind turbines that will generate electricity for some 7,000 households and will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 19,000 tonnes, according to a statement the German Ministry of Environment, cited by local news agency Mediafax.

The German financing of the project is developed following an agreement signed in June by the Federal Minister of Environment Barbara Hendricks and her Romanian counterpart Attila Korodi.
