George Enescu Competition concerts to be screened live outside the Romanian Athenaeum

Concerts and recitals within this year’s edition of the George Enescu International Competition, which takes place in Bucharest  between September 16 and September 27, can be watched live on a screen placed outside the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest.

Starting with September 16, live performances of young artists selected by the jury to enter the competition’s Semifinals will be screened live outside the Athenaeum. The repertoire also includes works of Romanian composer George Enescu. The audience can also enjoy live performances of contestants which will enter the Violin, Cello and Piano Finals.

Music enthusiast will also find out live who are the competition winners, after a short break after the finals, even if they are not in the concert hall. A total of 240 contestants from 34 countries entered this year’s competition.

The live broadcasts’ program will be the following:

Semifinals:

-          September 16 , between 16:00 and 22:00 – Violin Semifinals

-          September 19 , between 16:00 and 22:00 – Cello Semifinals

-          September 24, between 10:00 and 13:00 and between 17:00 and 20:00 – Piano Semifinals

Extraordinary piano recital:

-          September 23, 19:00 - Jean Claude Pennetier and Mara Dobrescu piano recital

The Finals’ Gala with the participation of the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra:

-          September 18, between 19:00 and 22:30 – Violin Finals

-          September 21, between 19:00 and 22:30 – Cello Finals

-          September 27, between 19:00 and 22:30 – Piano Finals

The semifinals and finals will also be broadcasted live on Festivalulenescu.ro.
