Gazprom delegation and GM Alexei Miller expected in Bucharest on Wednesday

A Gazprom delegation led by the Russian company's general manager Alexei Miller (in picture) is expected in Bucharest on Wednesday, to meet Economy Minister representatives, according to Agepres, quoting Government sources. The Economy Minister Ion Ariton will attend the meeting, along with Romgaz representatives.

The two parties will discuss about joint projects on natural gas. Gazprom plans to expand its underground gas storage capacities outside Russia to 6.5 billion cubic meters by 2016. Its current has such facilities amounting to 2 billion cubic meters.

Gazprom is currently working on building such facilities in Serbia, Holland, Hungary and UK. The development is part of the program to build new transport routes. Gazprom is planning to build similar facilities in other countries, Romania included, said Alexei Miller at the beginning of the summer.

Miller discussed with the then Economy Minister Adriean Videanu in June about the posisbility to build the South Stream gas pipe across Romania.
