EY survey: 87% of the managers in Romania plan to increase salaries this year

Almost nine in ten of the local companies will increase their employees’ salaries this year, but almost half of them (44%) don’t expect an increase above 5%, according to a study by EY Romania.

The companies in the IT and manufacturing industries have planned the biggest wage increases this year.

About 43% of the companies expect salary growths of 5-20% this year, compared to 38% last year.

Over a third of the employers (35%) plan to raise the number of employees by up to 5% in 2016 whereas about 36% will increase the number of employees by 5-30%.

The EY survey includes the answers of 421 top managers on Romania’s businesses perspectives.
