EY: Most Romanian entrepreneurs prefer to sell than develop

08 May 2015

Most Romanian entrepreneurs wish to sell or give up a part of their business, instead of waiting for another 3 to 5 years to develop their companies, said Florin Vasilica, EY Romania partner.

The crisis years have reduced the entrepreneurs’ expectations.

“The gap between the sellers’ and buyers’ expectations has significantly reduced in the last years,” said Vasilica, cited by local Wall-street.ro.

Most merger and acquisition deals took place last year in the service sector (25 transactions), retail (20) and IT sectors (16).

Based on value, the IT sector was the most active (USD 174.4 million), followed by the services sector (USD 126.1 million) and real estate (USD 57.2 million).
