The EUR/RON exchange rate was close to a maximum on Thursday, May 3, as the Romanian Central Bank and the Government were involved in hours-long discussions about the ROBOR interest rate, inflation and other macroeconomic indicators.

The rate was of RON 4,66 per EUR at the beginning of the day on Thursday, only to reach 4.6698 RON per EUR at 6 PM, during the high-level meeting.

The highest official rate was recorded on January 23 this year: RON 4.6679 for an EUR.
