Epson expects higher projector sales in Romania this year

31 March 2015

Electronics company Epson targets a 10% increase in projector sales in Romania this year while it expects the local market to continue the upward trend.

The business segment will have the highest share of the company’s sales of projectors while the educational area is also expected to resume acquisitions this year, according to a statement of Epson.

“When it comes to the consumer segment, there are more those who want a projector for home, but they often buy a business model instead of a home cinema, due to the costs,” said Simona Decuseara, Sales & Marketing Manager Epson for Romania and Bulgaria.

Epson representatives don’t expect major changes in projectors’ prices this year. According to Futuresource’s latest report, the average sales price for such an equipment stood at around EUR 570 last year. Epson projectors have prices between EUR 230 and EUR 8,500.

The Romanian projectors' market amounted to almost EUR 10 million last year, mainly supported by the FIFA World Cup, and the upward trend is expected to continue this year. The public investment and companies in the private sector are expected to be main drivers of the market growth.

This year’s stars will be the interactive systems with touchscreen for ultra-short distances, destined for conference rooms and the educational segment, according to Epson.
