Dutch leasing company ends 2014 with EUR 42.2 mln turnover in Romania

14 January 2015

Leasing company LeasePlan Romania ended 2014 with a turnover of EUR 42.2 million, slightly up from the previous year, according to a statement of the company. Its portfolio also increased by 15% last year, reaching over 10,400 vehicles at the end of the fourth quarter.

“Last year’s numbers are encouraging and were favored by a small increase at an economic level. Consumption growth accelerated the companies’ activity and this was also felt on the operational leasing market. Another aspect is the upward trend registered by the new car market in Romania, but also that increasingly more companies use fleet management services,” said Bogdan Apahidean, General Manager LeasePlan Romania.

The company plans to invest some EUR 46 million this year in purchasing new vehicles, but also in optimizing its products and services and in increasing the number of clients.

LeasePlan Romania’s portfolio currently includes 259 clients, mostly from the energy, financial services, FMCG and industry sectors. Almost 15% of the total clients have been contracted in the second half of 2014.

LeasePlan is a Dutch company active in the operational leasing sector and in corporate fleet management. It has some 6,500 employees and a fleet of 1.3 million vehicles.
