Daniel Zamfiropol to lead Romanian firm Octagon Contracting & Engineering's operations in Iraq

With eight years experience in management and construction, including three spent in Iraq, Daniel Zamfiropol will be the new Executive Director for the Octagon Contracting & Engineering’s new branch in Iraq, starting June 15 this year, according to the company.

The new Executive Director at Octagon Contracting & Engineering's branch in Iraq holds a degree in Foreign Languages ​​and Literatures, specializing in Arabic and English, at the Bucharest University. He speaks Arabic, English, Italian, French and Spanish.

Daniel Zamfiropol was the Branch Manager of Rompetrol’s branch in Baghdad between 2003 and 2005. He also led Global Business’ branch in Bagdad between 2005 and 2006. From 2006 until 2011, Daniel Zamfiropol was Shop Manager for the German do-it-yourself retailer, Praktiker.

Octagon Contracting & Engineering was founded in Romania in October 2005 by businessmen Alexandros Ignatiadis and  Paschalis Paganias.
