Car traffic between Chitila and the Militari area of Bucharest will be shut down during August, when works will start on the Northern ring road of the capital city, according to the National Roads Company.

The International Monetary Fund will revise Romania's economic forecast for this year, which currently stands to expect a 0.5 percent GDP drop, according to Jeffrey Franks, the head of the IMF mission to Romania. However, he has labeled the 3 percent drop forecast put forward by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as 'pessimistic'.

Romanian authorities have recently started to chase the illegal download of copyrighted music and films by local Internet users. The Music Industry Association has raised proofs against 40 users of the DC++ software, which allows sharing music and films among Internet users.
