The authorities will not sanction companies at the first control if the irregularities they discover are not serious, business environment minister Ilan Laufer said yesterday.

Companies will have 90 days to comply after the prevention law is approved, he added.

The prevention draft law forbids tax authorities to fine companies at the first control for a series of more than 500 contraventions. The law is mostly dedicated to small and medium-sized companies, with up to six employees, which don’t have a legal and audit structure that can have a discussion with the tax inspectors.

The draft law was completed in May. However, the law hasn’t passed the Parliament yet. It is now in the Chamber in Deputies, Laufer added.
