Comics Museum awaits visitors in Bucharest from June to September

The Comics Museum, a pilot project undertaken by the Romanian Cultural Institute and the National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC) in Bucharest, will be opened between June 16 and October 16, 2011, inside the National Museum of Contemporary Art in the Romanian capital city.

The museum will be opened on MNAC's 4th floor and will have two exhibition spaces, a media library, an area for creative workshops, and a space for debates. A permanent exhibition ro include original comics works representing the Romanian comics history will also be organized, and four temporary exhibitions that will be devoted to contemporary works.

Film screenings are also scheduled for July, offered by the Austrian Cultural Forum and the Czech Centre, along with an exhibition of the Portuguese artist, Eugenio Silva, in September. Throughout the museum, visitors will have access to a library of titles selected by the international Wallonie-Brussels Delegation, Belgian Comics Center and German Book Centre.

The official opening will take place on Thursday, June 16, starting 19:00 hours, when three permanent exhibitions will be opened: “Treasure - Romanian comics history”, “International Exhibition of comics from Romania”, and "How to make a comic".
