Color the Village: NGO seeks volunteers to paint 30 houses in a Romanian village

27 April 2022

Local NGO Acasă in Banat is seeking volunteers to join the fourth edition of its house painting project named Color the Village. For three days, from June 9 to 11, the volunteers will work together to renovate and paint the exterior of 30 houses in the village of Fărășești, Timiș county.

Participants don’t need to have experience in construction, as each team of volunteers will be coordinated by an experienced volunteer.

Those who want to join the project can register until May 31 by filling in the online form available here.

“We are in the fourth edition of Color the Village, and our goal is to show that we can do something actively to stop the destruction of the traditional architecture of the Banat region and make it visible. It is a challenge this year as well, like every previous edition, but we are confident that by joining forces, we will be able to make a difference, involving both volunteers and locals and the public administration,” said Radu Trifan, representative of the Acasă in Banat Association, quoted by local News.ro.

The first edition of Color the Village took place in 2019 in Eftimie Murgu, Caraș Severin county. The second edition took place in 2020 in Racovița, Timiș county, and the third in 2021 in Ilidia, Caraș Severin.
