Zhang Gaoli, the Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of China, will come to Bucharest this week, reports local Mediafax. Romania’s Prime Minister Victor Ponta and the Chinese official had a meeting in the US, while attending the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.

“I’m very happy that you will visit my country, but I am also sorry I will not be there to greet you personally. Be sure however that Vice Premier Liviu Dragnea and the president of the Parliament are waiting for you and I am sure you will have a successful visit,” Ponta told Gaoli.

While in New York, the Romanian Prime Minister also had a meeting with Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan.

Ponta is currently in the US for the 69th regular session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. During his stay, he will meet representatives of the Romanian community in the US and managers of American companies. Romanian PM attends UN General Assembly in New York, meets Halliburton & Exxon Mobile managers this week.
