Bucharest metro company Metrorex has upped the prices for metro tickets, effective from August 4. The 10-journey card now costs RON 15, compared to RON 10, while the monthly pass with 62 journeys will cost RON 50, up from RON 35. The monthly pass with unlimited trips will be RON 60 – up from RON 50, while the weekly pass – also with unlimited trips will be RON 20 – an increase from RON 15.

Two-journey cards and one day subscriptions will have the same prices, RON 4 and RON 6 respectively.

The increase in prices was made on the back of the agreement and targets established with the International Monetary Fund, World Bank and European Commission, according to Metrorex.
