Best Romanian employers’ ranking includes two public institutions

19 December 2018

Vodafone Romania was the best employer in 2018, followed by OMV Petrom and Banca Transilvania according to the survey carried by the recruiting online platform bestjobs.ro among 100,000 of the employees of the major companies in the country.

The employees were required to evaluate their companies along three criteria: their satisfaction at work, whether they would recommend the company to a friend and whether they plan to change their job within 6 to 12 months. Vodafone climbed up 9 seats in the rankings, thus leading the top of the Romanian employers.

Compared to 2017, the IT sector has lost ground to financial companies that are once again among the employees' preferences. Banca Transilvania boasted a remarkable advance, reaching third place in the ranking, the position occupied last year by Orange Romania. Top ten top positions include ING Bank this year, as well as retail companies Auchan, Altex and Emag, or BPO companies such as Arvato Services.

Two public institutions are among the top employers for the first time: the ministry of defence (MAPN) and the aero-spatial engineering institute (INCAS). MAPN occupies the 8th place among the most respected employers in 2018, while INCAS, the National Aerospace Research Institute, ranks the 10th in the rankings, a position occupied last year by Heineken Romania.
