Anticorruption prosecutors control the Romanian public television

The Romanian Television (TVR) announced yesterday that the National Anticorruption prosecutors have been carrying out a control at the institution’s headquarters.
The prosecutors are controlling the public purchase contracts TVR concluded between 2005 and 2015. They initially demanded documents on TVR’s activity from the Romanian Senate. The demand was made in July this year.
DNA also asked for documents on the television’s activity from the Chamber of Deputies a few weeks ago, according to sources familiar with this matter, cited by local Mediafax.
TVR is one of the companies with big debts to the state. At the beginning of August, the public television had debts of EUR 39.7 million.
