Big US companies, active in several sectors, including IT and energy, are interested to invest in Romania, according to George Maior, Romania's ambassador to Washington.

However, investors need a clear economic legislation and an environment that is not corrupt, reports local Digi24. US investors also need a system that is less bureaucratic for investment decisions.

“This would be great for strengthening the relationship with the US in depth, not only in the traditional areas,” the ambassador added.

Before being appointed ambassador, George Maior was the head of the Romanian Intelligence Service between October 2006 – January 2015.
