Austrian bricks and clay roof tiles producer Wienerberger will build its fourth production unit in Romania, with an investment of EUR 22 million. The decision was based on the growth potential of the Romanian construction market. The company has leased a 41-hectare plot in Iasi county, where it will build the greenfield project, according to the company's announcement.

Wienerberger, which entered the local market in 1998, owns factories in Dambovita, Sibiu and Cluj counties. Its 2010 turnover was of around EUR 28 million in Romania, where the producer has so far invested around EUR 75 million in its factories.
