Where do most Romanians prefer to spend their winter holidays?

More Romanian tourists have chosen to spend the winter holidays in their home country, compared to previous years, according to the Tourism Promotion Associations' Federation (FAPT).

"Almost all the accommodation units are occupied for the New Year's Eve. There are not so many accommodation places available and this is a good thing. We promote vacations in Romania and Romanian destinations. The accommodation places have been sold well in advance. For example, some hotels no longer have available rooms since August, and the Christmas packages have been entirely sold since October," FAPT president Corina Martin told local Mediafax.

The Romanians' favorite destinations are the Prahova Valley, Transylvania, and Bucovina. However, even the hotels at the seaside that organise New Year's Eve parties are fully booked, according to the Seaside and Danube Delta Association.

A recent study conducted by online travel agency eSky.ro revealed that London remains the Romanians’ favorite destination abroad for the winter holidays, followed by Rome and Milan.

Romania’s President will spend his winter holidays in the US.
