Vodafone reaches 9.5 million customers in Romania

Vodafone Romania had a total of 9.57 million customers for mobile, fixed voice and machine to machine services for the quarter ending June 2017, 420,241 more compared to the same period of last year.

Out of these, 8.87 million were mobile customers. Mobile postpaid customers accounted for 41% of the total mobile base, while prepaid customers stood for 59%.

The company reported service revenues of EUR 178.6 million for April-June quarter, up 2.9% on the previous year.

The company had a mobile ARPU (average revenue per user) of EUR 6.1 for the April-June 2017 quarter.

Data usage doubled for the quarter ended June 30th, 2017, compared to the same period of last year.

The company’s financial year begins April 1 and ends March 31, the following year.

Vodafone Romania changed CEOs this year as Murielle Lorilloux, previously CEO of Vodacom in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), took over from Ravinder Takkar, who will take on the position of Chairman Vodafone Group Services, Regional Business Development.

Vodafone Romania is a subsidiary of Vodafone Group. Its main competitors in Romania are Orange, Telekom Romania, and local group RCS&RDS.
