Untold Festival, the biggest music festival in Romania, will have its second edition next year, between August 4 and August 7, in Cluj-Napoca. The event will have a bigger budget and the organizers expect a crowd of more than 300,000 people, 20% more that this year.

“Artists have already contacted us, including some of those who participated in the first edition and wanted to return, such as Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, ATB, but we also want to bring other artists of the same level, top DJs. Next year’s budget will be 10% higher than last year’s, some EUR 5 million,” said Bogdan Buta, general director Untold Festival, cited by local Mediafax.

According to Buta, 240,000 people went to the first edition of the festival, the event having a financial impact on the community of some EUR 23 million. The festival had a favorable impact on the city’s tourism, as the number of tourists who visited Cluj-Napoca in July increased by 27%, he added.

“We aim to put Cluj on the map of major events in Europe. We are nominated for Best Major Festival and Best New Festival at the European Festival Awards,” Buta said.

The first edition of the festival was organized between July 30 and August 2, 2015. Its lineup included some 170 international and Romanian artists who performed on 8 stages, such as Avicii, Armin van Buuren, ATB, Fedde le Grande, Tinie Tempah, John Newman, Patrice, and David Guetta.
