UniCredit Tiriac Bank’s IT centre in Romania ups staff by a fifth

Romanian banking group UniCredit Tiriac Bank will increase by 20% the number of employees in its IT center in Romania. The center now employs some 1,400.

The company also wants to get involved in financing entrepreneurship in communications and IT, as well as help develop the higher education in IT.

Federico Ghizzoni, the UniCredit CEO, presented on May 25 the company’s projects to Prime Minister Victor Ponta.

The group founded the local IT center 10 years ago. The total assets of UniCredit Tiriac Bank in Romania amounted to EUR 6.4 billion at the end of 2014.
