Unexploded projectile from World War II found near Romanian Parliament's Palace

An unexploded projectile from World War II was found near Romanian Parliament's Palace, in Bucharest's center, by construction workers digging on the site of the Romanian People’s Salvation Cathedral, according to Digi 24 news station.

A pyrotechnics team was called to take the projectile and transport it in a military range to detonate it. The streets around the People’s Palace were closed for traffic until the projectile was removed.

The projectile had a 100 mm calibre and bomb squad found that it didn’t contain a high quantity of explosives, so they took it away from the site. Traffic in the area was reopened after about two hours.
