Turner to launch its TNT channel in Romania next week

Turner Broadcasting System's entertainment channel TNT will make its debut in Romania next week, on 6 October, replacing TCM.

The channel's program includes television series, feature films, and TNT productions. The TV channel will broadcast TV series such as The Last Ship and Murder in the First. The program also includes films such as Back to the Future, Mad Max, Batman, Hannibal, 8 Mile, and Scent of a Woman.

All leading cable operators in Romania, including RCS & RDS, Telekom, and UPC, will have TNT in their channel lineups.

TNT is available in 10 countries in Europe. It is part of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., a Time Warner company.

Turner's TNT and Cartoon Network were among the first American entertainment channels that cable carriers have broadcasted in Romania after 1989. TCM replaced TNT some 15 years ago.

Other popular movie and entertainment channels broadcasted in Romania include HBO, AXN, AMC, Paramount Channel, Diva, and Comedy Central. Universal Channel recently pulled out of Romania.
